Tofurkey

While it's true that Turks be lovin' meat, with the damned doner (spinning meat tube) everywhere, they also have a huge appreciation for fresh fruits and vegetables. Here a few examples:

Stuffed small peppers. It's pepper season right now, and you see a bunch of dishes with them.
This had rice with tomato sauce inside.

Grilled melon served with tomatoes and peppers.

My host Yesim showed me some Anatolian food. Baked and stuffed onions, lentil soups, stuffed melons and peppers, grape leaves with rice(dolma), among other things.

This doesn't look like much, but it's great, and very satisfying. Savory pilav with butter beans and all the bread you care to eat.

This is green beans in a hearty tomato sauce on the left, and on the right is eggplant, sweet peppers and potatoes, with a creamy yogurt on top. Amazing.

Pilav again, with green beans in a spicy tomato sauce, and a fresh hot pepper and tomato. And free bread to chomp. Thank you Jesus, or maybe Mohammed.

In the morning, this borek (cheese filled bread) with some tea is f'n great.
